Dog Boarding in Christchurch: What to Know Before Your Dog’s First Kennel Stay
Booking kennels for the first time can feel like a big step. You want to know where your dog will sleep, who will be looking after them, and what they’ll actually do all day. Here are straight answers to the questions Christchurch dog owners ask us most.
What is dog boarding?
Dog boarding is overnight care for your dog while you are away. At Everything Dog, it is not a row of bare runs. Our boarding kennels extend the daycare experience into the evening, with climate-controlled rest runs, comfy beds and nutritious raw food, so your dog’s day doesn’t stop when yours does.
Where is Everything Dog’s dog boarding in Christchurch?
We are at 347 Blenheim Road, Upper Riccarton, Christchurch 8041. Our purpose-built facility is on one level with plenty of room for dogs to move, and it sits on a main road that is easy to spot and closer to the CBD.
Is there someone on-site overnight?
Yes. Our team is on-site overnight, not just on call. That is one of the biggest things owners tell us gives them peace of mind.
Does my dog need an assessment before their first stay?
Yes. Every dog has an assessment before their first kennels booking. It lets us get to know your dog’s temperament and needs, so their stay suits them from the first night.
What will my dog eat and do while they’re boarding?
Dogs are fed nutritious raw food, just like their evolutionary ancestors. If your dog has specific dietary needs, let us know when you book.
During the day, boarders enjoy the same enrichment as our daycare dogs, exploring the range of textures, sights, smells and sounds around them. We don’t simply dog sit, we enhance your dog’s wellbeing.
Which dogs can stay with us?
All breeds and all temperaments are welcome. Our team matches each dog to the right setting after their assessment.
When should I book?
As early as you can, especially for school holidays and Christmas, which are our busiest boarding periods. We are open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8:30am to 5pm, and closed on Sundays.
